Brixington Primary School pupils swapped school uniform for doublets, hose and ruffs when they learned about the life of the Tudors.
Youngsters from Years 5 and 6 recently visited Buckland Abbey, in Yelverton, which was built by Cistercian monks and later bought by Sir Francis Drake.
A spokeswoman for Brixington school said: “The children learnt all about the exploits of Sir Francis Drake from within his former home and were fortunate enough to dress and dance just like the Tudors.”
