TOWN hall planners have refused to back plans for a two-storey extension at a Brixington home – and insisted district councillors discuss the matter.
Previously, the council had postponed ruling on the plans at 1 Cheriswood Avenue because of concerns that building work would affect protected trees.
Several neighbours have said it would destroy their privacy and it would ‘adversely affect’ the roots of trees.
The application is further complicated because of a boundary dispute.
Cllr Maddie Chapman said: “I’m going to call this in (to the Development Management Committee)…I don’t want this going to delegated powers.”
East Devon planners will make the final decision.
