FIRE crews from across the county are battling to bring under control a blaze raging across Woodbury Common.
Some 16 fire crews, including Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton, are battling to contain the blaze, which broke out shortly before 3.30pm close to Woodbury Castle, at The Warren.
The fire crews are using water jets, hoses and beaters to douse the flames.
The fire service said the crews are working against the wind, which is fanning the flames further across the dry gorse land.
Roads close to the Four Firs car park are closed while the fire service tackles the blaze.
