THE new seafront bowling alley is taller than in the original plans - forcing developers to apply for retrospective planning permission.
Town planners on Monday were told by planning chairman Lynne Elson that the Esplanade development is more than a foot - 16 inches - taller than in the plans.
Councillor Steve Gazzard said: "I know 16 inches doesn't sound like a lot, but to the people living behind the bowling alley and their view it makes a real difference.
"I have grave concerns about this.
