Boost for RNLI
PUBLISHED: 12:33 09 December 2011
On behalf of Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton RNLI Guild, I would like to thank all those who supported the coffee morning we held on Saturday, November 26, in Budleigh Salterton Public Hall. We were fortunate the weather was kind to us on that morning, which encouraged more than 100 people to attend.
Thanks also are due to the main sponsors of this event, Palmer Whitton and Laing, without whose financial backing we would not have done so well, and The Co-operative Society, who supplied us with the tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits.
We are very fortunate to have such loyal support, also, from the many shopkeepers who supplied us with prizes for the raffle, which raised £180, an increase of £50 on 2010.
The final result for the whole event was a magnificent total of £797.17. Thanks to the numerous volunteers who helped out on the morning. That sum will now go entirely towards the costs of carrying out our task of saving lives at sea. Thank you all most sincerely.
We shall be holding our Carol Service in Holy Trinity Church, Rolle Street, Exmouth, on Saturday, December 17, at 4pm. Everyone is welcome to attend that service.
