An Exmouth charity has received a funding boost thanks to a recipe book and a helpful bank.

CanCope is a support group for women who are fighting or recovering from breast cancer.

To raise funds, its members decided to compile some of their favourite recipes to sell as a recipe book.

This raised £328, a result which was made even better when Barclays bank, the employer of group treasurer Jill Hillman, provided a further £328 through its £4£ matched funding scheme.

The group meets on the first Thursday of every month at Radcliffe House, Burnside, between 10.30am and noon.

For more information, call Susan Carrahar on 01395 222904.
