Britain in Bloom judges were treated to the very best of Budleigh’s floral displays when they assessed the town for this year’s South West in Bloom competition.

The judges were shown around the town by Budleigh in Bloom members, taking in all the displays, including plants produced by pupils at St Peter’s School, before a reception at Budleigh Croquet Club with town mayor Steve Hall.

Budleigh in Bloom chairman Bob Wiltshire said: “The judges were very impressed with our floral displays. We won’t know for sure until September 19 when the results are announced in Truro.

“We’d like to thank all the volunteers, Bicton College and everybody who has made it possible to present the town in such a good light.

“We must also thank the croquet club for their kind hospitality.

“We have had many complimentary comments about the flowers this year and hope the result will be favourable.”
