EXMOUTH in Bloom volunteers - who have landed a national trophy - will be honoured at a civic reception at the town hall on Wednesday.The volunteers, led by chairman Pat Graham, won the Silver Gilt and Winner's Trophy in the Britain in Bloom Awards in the category for the best coastal town with a population over 12,000.They also won a gold award and the St Bridget Cup in the South West in Bloom competition in the best large town category.As an added bonus, Pat was awarded the Community Champion Award for her dedication to the Britain in Bloom cause.Pat said: "I am delighted Exmouth won. It was a great achievement. We are already planning for next year - it never stops."The volunteers will be welcomed by civic leaders, including mayor Joy Whipps and deputy mayor Darryl Nicholas. Said Councillor Nicholas: "To be a national winner is such a superb accolade for Exmouth. We cannot give enough credit for all the hard work that the Exmouth in Bloom committee and volunteers put in to making our town look fantastic each and every year. "A special mention must also go to the parks department which has created some wonderfully imaginative looking displays that have wowed both residents and visitors.
