Birthday celebrations to mark the 90th anniversary of the Exmouth branch of The Royal British Legion were held alongside the club’s annual general meeting.
County chairman Kevin Jeffries presented an award to new president Dave Turner for his outstanding contribution over the years as branch chairman.
A spokesperson for Exmouth RBL said: “With Dave now moving to president, Neil Gregory has stepped into the role of chairman and all members and committee wish him all the very best in his new role.”
Also presented with awards were Poppy Appeal organisers for Exmouth, Jean Gregory, Carole Reeves and Adrian Pierce.
The next meeting of the branch is at 7.30pm on February 22, at the Wings Bar in Imperial Road. All are welcome along to learn what the branch does and to socialise. There will be a raffle and buffet.
Club vice president Brian Parker will be giving a presentation on Exmouth volunteers 1794 – 1914, a short illustrated history of the town’s involvement with the Yeomanry and Volunteer units during this period.
