Nick Baker, the children’s TV wildlife presenter, was on hand to offer expert advice at Exmouth’s Bystock Nature Reserve on Saturday.

The Bioblitz Day saw nature detectives of all ages help spot up to 1,000 different species which have made their home at the reserve – including roe deer and dragonflies.

During a Bioblitz scientists and members of the public work together to identify and record as many species as possible over 24 hours.

The day was organised by Exmouth Wildlife Watch leader Danielle Smith, 22, a student at Exeter University.

CBBC Really Wild Show TV presenter Nick Baker, also a former Exeter University student, spent the afternoon judging the prettiest, ugliest and rarest species found of the day.
