'Wonderful' NHS staff who went above and beyond to help others during last week's heavy snowfall are being thanked with free entry to a popular Exmouth attraction.

Bicton Park Botanical Gardens is opening its doors to local NHS and military staff to recognise their efforts when Storm Emma threatened to bring East Devon to a halt.

The park is publicising its gesture via a Facebook event, which invites local military and healthcare staff to enjoy ‘a free day out’, on March 17, with up to two children.

The post says: “Each one of you did a truly wonderful job in making sure that you continued to provide safe, high quality services for all patients – and did everything possible to minimise disruption and inconvenience.

“Like many others, we feel immensely proud of each and every one of you - from the porters right up to the specialist doctors.”
