A long-serving Exmouth Rotarian has been recognised for half-a-century of service to the club.

Bernard Greenaway’s 50 years with the Rotary Club of Exmouth and District has included spells as president in 1975/76 and 1985/86 and serving as district conference chairman in 1989.

In recognition of his contribution, he has been awarded honorary membership.

Current president John Thorogood said: “Bernard has always been an eager and energetic member of our club.

“He has put many of his organisational skills to good use throughout his long service.

“He has always given it his full support and is held in very high esteem by the membership.

“At the anniversary of his 50th year, it is a fitting tribute to award him with an honorary membership of the club.”
