Beach hut move saves Budleigh sea view

Budleigh’s seafront views have been preserved after a decision was taken to relocate a number of beach huts.

Beach huts in Budleigh Salterton have been relocated after complaints of spoiled sea views were received last year.

The town council teamed up with the district council to relocate the additional beach huts to the Steamer Steps area of the beach to preserve the view.

A Budleigh Salterton Town Council spokesperson said: “Last summer the town council received a number of complaints about the ‘tunnel effect’ these extra huts caused at the east end of the seafront.”
