A beach hut was damaged when two cars were involved in a crash on Exmouth seafront.

An elderly couple were involved in an accident on Exmouth seafront on Saturday afternoon when their car collided with another vehicle.

When firefighters arrived at Queens Drive at around 3.15pm they found one vehicle had collided with a beach hut while the other vehicle had left the scene.

Devon and Cornwall police said the driver of the other vehicle reported to Exmouth police station following the collision.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Two fire engines from Exmouth and one from Middlemoor were sent to a report of a two vehicle collision.

“On arrival crews confirmed one car had left the scene, and the other had collided with a beach hut. Two people were still in this vehicle but not trapped.
