Friday, July 15 - BANK Holiday Monday will interrupt recycling and waste collections - delaying collections by a day.

BANK Holiday Monday will interrupt recycling and waste collections - delaying collections by a day.

For one week only, recycling and waste normally collected on a Monday will be picked up on the Tuesday (August 26) and so on through the week, with Friday collections moving to Saturday.

This is a change from the previous system, when recycling collections were unaffected by the Bank Holiday.

East Devon District Councillor David Cox, portfolio holder for Streetscene, who is responsible for the recycling and waste collection service in the district, explained that the change was a result of the more complex collection service the Council is now starting to offer.

The district council will be introducing a new recycling and waste collection service in 2010.
