A RECORD number of balloons were sent up into the sky off Budleigh Salterton seafront when the town's Lion's Club held its annual bank holiday fun day on Monday.
Some 711 balloons were released into the atmosphere.
Lion's spokesman Geoff Paver said a record number of charity stalls - 23 - took part.
