EXMOUTH'S Friday country market could be the answer to beating the credit crunch blues.
The weekly event, held in the Tower Street hall, from 8.30am until 11.15am, is run by local people selling local produce.
Visitors can snap up a host of bargains, including plants, handicrafts, hand-knitted baby clothes, greetings cards, free-range eggs, jams and preserves and homemade cakes.
Market spokeswoman Rosemary Omerod said: "We are looking for value for money and it's good to be able to support local producers at the same time while also reducing food miles.
