A DISTRICT Council-owned property in The Crescent, Exmouth, has been given the green light by town planners to be adapted for disabled use.
A DISTRICT Council-owned property in The Crescent, Exmouth, has been given the green light by town planners to be adapted for disabled use.
The plans call for the semi-detached house, at 22 The Crescent, to provide a downstairs bedroom and bathroom that could be fully adapted for the disabled, on behalf of Social Services.
Access to the property would be via an existing footpath leading from the public footpath to the door.
But neighbour Stuart Woodman of the Crescent sought assurances that the building would not impinge on his property.
He asked: "How close will the new extension be built to the boundary line? Will be space left for access to the rear of the garden via a path at the side of the house?"
Councillor Sandy Sutton said: "We have no objection as long as the development does not encroach on the boundary or footpath."
The plans will now be decided by district planners.
