AN AWARD-winning chef has landed a dream job at a popular Topsham restaurant.
Ed McLachlan, who works for The Galley restaurant, has been rewarded for his years of training and dedication by being promoted to head chef at the eatery.
The 23-year-old has the title of Master Chefs Apprentice of the Year in 2009 on his resume and has been honoured with a higher diploma by the Master Chefs of Great Britain, an association of professional cooks.
The prize for winning the award was an all expenses paid trip in May this year to Johnson and Wales University in the USA.
Paul Da Costa Greaves, owner of The Galley restaurant, said: "He is an excellent, dedicated chef who has put in the hours and it has paid off."
The Master Chefs of Great Britain was formed in 1980 to provide a forum for the exchange of culinary ideas and to further the profession through training and guidance.
