A military wife who dreamed up cuddle dolls Huggable Heroes to comfort her children while their Royal Marine dad was away on duty is celebrating scooping multiple awards, writes Becca Gliddon.
Mum-of-two Jo Lomax, of Lympstone, has been recognised for her Huggable Hero venture – unique cuddle dolls with printed photos of working-away, or absent, loved-ones – by online parenting magazine, Lovedbyparents, and childcare magazine, Practical Pre-School.
Jo’s Huggable Heroes have been crowned overall winner of the Practical Pre-School Award, nought to three toys and games category, at a ceremony held in Birmingham.
In the summer, Lovedbyparents presented Huggable Heroes with a silver award for best baby gift under £50, and gold for best handmade gift for under £50.
Jo said she had been ‘shocked’ to receive the latest award.
“It’s so exciting. I feel like we are in a dream; I’m so proud,” she said.
