WAREHOUSE giant Argos has revealed Exmouth could be a future location for one of its stores. However, there are no concrete plans for a store to open at the present time. An Argos spokeswoman said: "Argos is continually adding to its store portfolio and reviews different locations on an ongoing basis. "Exmouth has been identified as a possible location for a new store, but we do not have any plans to commit to a property at this stage."Argos's announcement was made a week after it was revealed the town was in line to receive a 5.248 million cash injection, which could see a multi-storey car park built on the London Inn car park site.Deputy mayor Darryl Nicholas said insufficient parking in Exmouth could reduce the viability of the town centre as a retail trading location.Cllr Nicholas said: "Town centre parking has been an unresolved issue in Exmouth for many years. "Making more spaces available in the town centre will support our existing traders and provide the right type of retail environment that will attract new shops and investment. "Many residents have asked for a wider range of shops, but the town will have difficulty attracting these businesses unless we get the basics right - that includes more accessible parking.
