An appeal has been made to find the descendants of the Turrell family after ‘battered but still beautiful’ album of poems were found.
Ann Leo has in her possession the album as well as messages and drawings belonnging to Amy Rita Turrell – whose family she believes comes from Budleigh - dated May 25, 1918.
According to Ann, the latest entries are from around 1945.
The collection also includes medals for Edward H V Turrell who served in the Royal artillery in World War One.
She is now appealing to anyone who is descended from the Turrell family to come forward.
Ann said: “The items were all acquired by my Grandmother, who lived in North London...I lived with my Grandmother and parents in Berkeley, and I always recall Rita’s name being mentioned, but that unfortunately that is all I know.
“My parents have passed away too and I now have these items that I would dearly love to reunite with descendents of the Turrell Family.”
