An Exmouth ice cream parlour has announced its 2016 ‘design an ice-cream’ competition winners, with the proceeds of the sales going to Exmouth RNLI.
Antonio’s, in The Strand, recently held its annual contest, which is open to all primary school pupils in the area.
The competition attracted more than 200 entries and two winners were selected.
Tony Badcott, owner of Antonio’s, said: “I could not decide on an overall winner this year, so, after much consideration and tasting, we decided on two winners.”
The winning entries came from Withycombe Raleigh Primary School pupils Freya Day and Ella Mai Dolby, both aged eight.
Freya created a ‘flapjack delight’, while Ella came up with a ‘lemon drizzle’ flavoured ice cream.
Both girls were given a tub of their created ice cream as a prize and all shortlisted winners received vouchers to use at the ice cream parlour.
The money raised from the sales of the ice creams will be donated to the RNLI.
Over the past three years, around £1,300 has been raised for the RNLI as a result of the competition.
A spokesman for RNLI thanked Antonio’ s for its continued support.
