AN ANIMAL rescue and veterinary charity will be holding a coffee morning to raise money to aid its international work with farmers and their livestock. The Brooke has vets and animal health teams working in nine countries across the world in inhospitable conditions, helping communities understand how to care for their animals.Last year they provided free veterinary care to 650,000 working horses, donkeys and mules, as well as training and education for animal owners. Hazel Beusmans, chairman of Brooke, said: "We hope to raise as much as possible to help the hard working horses, donkeys and mules and the people whose livelihoods depend on them."The spring coffee morning will offer refreshments and sell books, cakes and plants with a grand draw to close the morning. It will be held at Matthews Hall, Topsham, on Saturday, April 26, from 10am to noon.
