Man charged after alleged assault on police officer

A man has been charged after allegedly assaulting a female police officer on Saturday (February 9).

Police say they were called out to a domestic incident in Clyst St George at around 8.30pm, and an arrest was made.

A Devon and Cornwall spokesman said: “Frank Lee, 29, from King Edward Street, Exeter, has been charged with assault by beating, resisting a constable in execution of duty, and assault by beating of an emergency worker.”

Police say a man is due to appear in magistrates court on Tuesday, February 26.
