VISITORS are invited to Bicton's annual lambing Sunday on March 22, between 11am and 4pm.

The Bicton Home Farm family-friendly event gives visitors hands-on opportunities to stroke baby lambs and calves, have a tractor and trailer ride and watch cows being milked in the afternoon.

With students on hand as guides to answer questions, and refreshments available, people are welcome to stay all day.

The popular event has been organised by Bicton College students.

First diploma in agriculture student Alice Palfrey, from Yeoford, said the event would give people the chance to find out more about farm life.

She said: "This is a fantastic occasion for people to get more involved with farm animals in a safe environment, and the opportunity to witness something you don't get a chance to see every day."

The charge is 2 for adults and 1 for children or 5 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children, with donations to Devon Air Ambulance.

Visitors are advised to wear wellies and to leave their dogs at home.

Last year's event raised nearly 1000.
