Overnight temperatures fell dramatically.
FREEZING overnight temperatures turned compacted snow to ice on some untreated roads across the district.
Although main roads are reported to be clear, motorists are warned that black ice could be a problem later today.
Rain is forecast to fall during the evening rush hour.
A milkman told the Midweek Herald this morning that the main road from Devon into Dorset is “not too bad at all”, but he added that some estate roads were iced over.
