BRIXINGTON School students will be doing a lot more reading thanks to the new fully refurbished library.The school governors, Mayor Joy Whipps and past and present teachers were at the school to open up the newly-furnished library, which was finally completed after 12 years of waiting.Gill Laws, vice chair of governors, said: "The library was in use but needed redoing and we had the opportunity to extend it. Now it is exclusively for children who want to sit and enjoy reading."The library, which houses 20,000 books, was also presented with some French books by the Exmouth Twinning Association.The new area will include a reference section, and a section by the entrance for the foundation year.The money was raised by the Parent Teacher Association and partly funded out of the school funds.
