As a parent of young adults and teenagers, I know that nights out to pubs and clubs are very much a rite of passage.

Hey, I can even remember the days myself when a night out in a sweaty club with the lights strobing and the music pounding and new people to meet was the thing that kept me going from one week to the next.

However, for some young adults it’s not as simple as deciding to go out for the night. For those with additional needs, a regular club night presents all sorts of anxieties and problems from the extreme noise levels to being overwhelmed by new experiences. But does that mean we shouldn’t seek to give all young adults this formative experience on which to build confidence and to promote enjoying themselves? No, it does not! And thanks to one amazing Mum in Exeter an inclusive club night is going to be taking place this July at a small club in Exeter.

Billed as a night for amazing adults with additional needs, Club Night on 18th July at Bomba Bar on Exeter Quay will be specially adapted to suit a neurodiverse crowd. The doors open at 7.30pm, the night finishes at a very civilised 11pm and tickets are available online for £10 from the Bomba Bar website. If you know of someone who’d love to experience this type of club night, I suggest you don’t hang around though as tickets are strictly limited.

If the night is a success, organiser Sam is keen to make it a regular occurrence. So now everyone can dig out their dancing shoes and dance like nobody’s watching.
