Cyclists in Exmouth now have 28 more spaces to park their bikes.
The spots are located near the RNLI Lifeboat Station on the seafront and two areas in Phear Park.
It comes as part of an initiative by East Devon District Council (EDDC).
The aim is to further encourage residents to use environmentally-friendly means of transportation.
This effort has come at a critical time, given that 29 per cent of the East Devon area’s emissions in 2021 were from transport.
By increasing biking facilities, EDDC hopes to reduce emissions and foster a culture of sustainable travel.
Councillor Marianne Rixson, EDDC's portfolio holder for climate action and emergency response, said: "With our declaration of the climate emergency, providing facilities to allow people to travel in a low carbon way is important.
"We know there is an active cycling community locally and we are keen to support them with safe and secure cycle parking."
