An Exmouth care home welcomed children from a local school to celebrate World Book Day.
Raleigh Manor invited Brixington Primary Academy students to join in the celebration.
Coinciding with World Book Day, residents, staff, and children all dressed as favourite characters from beloved books while sharing readings and discussions.
Activities lead Kirstie Cobb said: "Our residents all love to read and to talk about their favourite books so World Book Day is a fantastic opportunity for us all to spend the day with our noses in our favourite books.
"Having the children come to visit us made it even more fun, we all loved seeing their costumes."
Integral to this celebration was not only the unity through books but the sharing between generations.
Gill Pratt, general manager at Raleigh Manor added: "Our intergenerational events really are the best.
"Our residents love sharing their world with the children.
"And the children love to practice their story-telling to an appreciative audience.
"We all have something in common when it comes to characters and story-telling."
Raleigh Manor, run by Barchester Healthcare, strives to encourage engaging activities for their residents based on their interests and abilities.

With World Book Day, Raleigh Manor proved that love for books knows no age and everyone becomes a child when they open a book.
