South West Water has now fixed an earlier sewage pipe burst in Lime Kiln Pumping Station on Tuesday morning (March 5).

Tankers were seen in the car park yesterday, they were shipping waste from the pumping station to Maer Lane treatment works in Exmouth while engineers fixed the burst pipe, which is now back up and running again.

South West Water says that no customers were impacted and the environment agency, local stakeholders and the MP for Budleigh, Simon Jupp have been informed.

South West Water said: “We have successfully repaired a sewer pipe near our Lime Kiln Pumping Station in Budleigh Salterton which burst in the early hours of yesterday morning. We had to use tankers to take flows to Maer Lane Wastewater Treatment Works while we completed the repair but all tankering has now stopped. We want to thank customers in the area for their understanding.”

"There was no impact to customers’ services during this burst and we have kept the Environment Agency and local stakeholders fully updated, including the area’s MP."
