Arthur and Martha in Budleigh Salterton is closing down due to the cost-of-living crisis and 'rising costs'.

The owners have other stores in Exmouth Strand, Honiton and Teignmouth which they say 'they will be focussing on in the future'.

Owners Arthur and Martha have asked for people 'respect our team during this time' and said reductions are available in store while they are still open.

A closing date has not been confirmed.

The store published a notice that said: "Due to the cost of living crisis and increased costs of running the shop we have made the difficult decision to close Arthur and Martha in Budleigh.

"We will be focussing on our stores in Honiton, Exmouth and Teignmouth, where you can continue to shop our range.

"Please respect our team during this difficult time Thank you to everyone who has supported us during our years trading in the town. We hope to see you soon at our other stores.

"We have some reductions still available in the store including all our clothing, for furniture and fixtures please see in-store."
