A daring cliff rescue in Exmouth has seen a dog safely returned to its owner.
Speaking of the challenging operation, which took place on February 27, an Exmouth Coastguard spokesperson said: "Full team page alongside colleagues from Beer Coastguard team earlier today.
"Dog over the cliff at the highland of Orcombe.
"Challenging access to the cliff edge but successful outcome and dog happily reunited with owner.
"Return to station this evening for kit check and clean up."
The dog's rescue is one of more than 36,000 incidents responded to annually by the UK's dedicated emergency service, His Majesty's Coastguard.
With more than 300 rescue teams nationwide, comprising around 3,500 volunteers and over 400 paid staff, the HM Coastguard continues to provide critical rescue services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
