There are more than 5,000 desperate families on the East Devon District Council (EDDC) Housing Waiting List.
Rural Exception Sites provide an option for providing new affordable homes in our rural communities, if there is a proven need.
EDDC requires expensive Housing Needs Surveys to identify needs. A recent FOI Act request has identified that there are only three parishes within the whole of the EDDC area that has had one of these surveys in the last two years.
The more enlightened Mid Devon District Council uses the numbers on its Housing Waiting List to identify need. Why does EDDC not want more affordable rural housing?
