Despite a relentless spell of rain all day on Tuesday (Feb 13) a group of volunteers gathered at Seachange to help build a community allotment.
Among the volunteers, were four students from Exmouth Community College, Henry, Max, Rowan, and Jude, who lent a helping hand as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
These students tackled a range of projects, including filling raised beds with fresh earth, completing a pond in the nature area, and even laying a new paved area for less mobile members of the allotment community.
Katheryn, the allotment coordinator said: "They were an absolute godsend. Their hard work, combined with the efforts of our amazing volunteers, meant we accomplished a huge amount "
The Budleigh Community Allotment is a welcoming space for all, offering residents of the wider community the chance to grow their own food.
Emma Roberts added: "We invite anyone interested to join their friendly group and get their hands dirty.
