Residents of Budleigh Salterton care home 'Firs' hosted a Magical Mad Hatter's Tea Party this week.

The Firs care home in Budleigh Salterton transformed an ordinary afternoon into an adventure, as Alice in Wonderland was brought to life at a Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Residents were greeted by a cast of beloved characters including Alice, The Mad Hatter, The White Rabbit, The Cheshire Cat, and The Queen of Hearts.

The dining room became a gateway to Wonderland, inviting all to embrace a bit of delightful madness. The tale, penned by the brilliant Lewis Carroll, was shared amongst staff and residents, igniting a spark of childhood wonder and joy in everyone's heart.

A highlight of the event was the unveiling of a fabulous homemade Toadstool cake, crafted with exceptional skill by staff member Holly. The cake, along with the day's festivities, drew admiration and gratitude from all.

"A big well done to Holly for the fabulous homemade Toadstool cake, we know it wasn’t easy!! Also, a big thank you to everyone who has helped to make today so memorable." The Home said.

Feedback from residents was overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing their delight:

Joan said: "Just wonderful, the staff were delightful. I am so happy here, Alice was great!"

Liz said: "It was nuts, we all had so much fun, we all came together and enjoyed the party."

Janet praised, "I thought it was marvellous, everything down to the set up and costumes. It was really a good day, the effort certainly paid off."

Betty humorously hoped, "I hope there is some of that delicious cake left, I am hoping that rabbit didn’t eat it all."

Home's manager, Nikki, added, "The staff went above and beyond yet again, creating a truly magical experience that took us all back to our childhoods. It was a smashing afternoon.

"This enchanting afternoon was not just a testament to the creativity and dedication of The Firs' staff but also a vivid reminder of the joy and connection such imaginative events foster within the care home community."
