The latest beach clean organised by Plastic Free Exmouth removed 24kg of rubbish from Exmouth’s seashore.

The environmental group invites volunteers to come and pick up litter and debris every Sunday morning.

Last Sunday (January 28) a group of 28 volunteers turned up to help.

As well as tidying up the beach they cleared litter from a nearby wildflower border.

Plastic Free Exmouth said it was 'fabulous work from these heroes on this grey Sunday morning'.

The group say they are proud of the sense of community generated by the weekly beach cleans, and of ‘the people who turn up regardless of the weather, regardless of the numerous other commitments we all have … who want to meet like-minded people who share a common reason for being there at 8.30 on a Sunday morning’.

Anyone can join the clean-up sessions by just turning up with bag and gloves. The start time is 8.30am but people can come along later, working from either end of the beach.
