New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of East Devon’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

Daisys, at 51b - 51c Harbour Road, Seaton, was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on January 9.

And River Cottage Limited, at Park Farm, Trinity Hill Road, Musbury, Axminster, was also given a score of five on January 9.

It means that of East Devon's 288 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 204 (71%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

Ratings are a snapshot of the standards of food hygiene found at the time of inspection. It is the responsibility of the business to comply with food hygiene law at all times.

The scheme gives businesses a rating from 5 to 0 which is displayed at their premises and online.
