The Proper Fish and Chip Company, on Exeter Road, have expanded their empire this year, with a new shop opening in Honiton High Street.

Their second store opened in November at 60 Honiton High Street.

The company were also named-checked in a recent article by The Times newspaper.

Exmouth was named among the Top 50 beaches in the UK, and Times reporter Chris Haslam visited to pick up some fish and chips while checking out the beach.

They sell burgers, fish and chips and pies from Chunk of Devon and use local produce and also care about the environment.

Their pies, potatoes and burgers, to name a few, are all locally sourced within Devon and the South West. The packaging is 100% biodegradable and is made from plants. They don't sell any products that contain plastic.

They also offer a click-and-collect service from both stores in Honiton and Exmouth, where food can be ordered up to seven days in advance and then collected from the store.

Owner Daniel Hennesy told the Herald: "Our aim is simple; to offer our customers first-class fish and chips cooked the traditional way. We have had an amazing reception in Honiton, and have been extremely busy ever since we opened."

Over the Christmas and New Year period, they are open on Christmas Eve from 11.30am to 7pm, then they are closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but back open from 11.30am to 7pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
