Exmouth Gateway Club held their annual All Inclusive Nativity and Carols at Holy Trinity Church last Monday, (December 18).

The nativity was written by Club Leader Emma Baldwin and performed by over 30 members and volunteers. Alex and Steph did a great job narrating the story with the emphasis being both on the Christmas Story and the Exmouth Gateway motto of “Its Cool to be Kind”. The script had many references to being kind, not believing everything that is written on social media and forgiveness of wrongs.

The annual event that has been developing since 2017 this year was performed to a fully packed Church. The Exmouth Town Concert Band accompanied the Gateway Club with Christmas music and carols.

This year was the best turnout to date in support of our members and they were all thrilled to perform in front of a packed church. There are no rehearsals just a quick run through before the show but it all went to plan and the Christmas story unfolded.

Club secretary Paul Baldwin said: "Well done to all those who took part, Molly as Mary, John who played Joseph with Tony our donkey, Jai played the Inn keeper, Aidan, Alistair and Liam the Kings supported by Carol the camel and following Pam our Star. So that as many members as possible can take part we have plenty of shepherds and sheep as well as an array of beautiful Angels. Our Shepherds were played by Josh, Oscar, Zoe, Carolyn, Brian, Paige, Peter, Reece, Peter, Darren and Justin, the sheep were Mandy, Helen, Angela, Rose, Jodene, Gemma, Martin and Harry. The Angels Lettie, Cassie, Kelsey, Helen, Zellie, Abbey and Donna were guided to place by Lacy our tree (every nativity has a guiding tree doesn’t it?). Thank you to everyone who contributed to our closing collection it raised £185 for Club funds."
