A significant industrial and warehouse development is underway at Exeter Logistics Park in East Devon.

UK construction company Glencar has been appointed by commercial property developer Stoford to construct the 42,500 sq ft facility, referred to as DC9.

Set within a 3.30 acre plot, the sustainably focused design aims for a BREEAM 'very good' and an EPC 'A' rating, with net zero carbon in construction.

Features include water and daylight saving controls, PV panels, electric vehicle charging stations and more.

The amenities extend to on-site trim trail, outdoor gym areas and bodyweight exercise equipment.

Work began in October, with an estimated 30 week completion schedule.

The buildings are expected to be ready for occupation by May 2024.

Accommodations include warehouse space, office areas, car parking, and an external landscaping design that includes attenuation ponds.

Glencar CEO Eddie McGillycuddy commented on the partnership with Stoford, voicing his enthusiasm for the project and Stoford's commendable track record.

He said: "We are absolutely delighted to be working for the first time for Stoford whose track record in the I&L space over the course of the past few years has been exemplary and at the forefront of the sector.

"They have brought forward some of the UK’s most high profile logistics and distribution schemes at sites right across the UK and Glencar are very pleased to now be part of that and we look forward to delivering on this scheme."

Mr McGillycuddy added: "Exeter Logistics Park continues to attract high-calibre occupiers and we are excited to be on site with Glencar for the first time on this new development.

"This is a well-designed building, offering a combination of high-quality internal and external spaces in an easily accessible location that is perfect for distribution."

The Exeter Logistics Park, positioned conveniently near major highways and the Exeter Airport, has seen four previous developments completed by Stoford.

Earlier constructions made room for units utilized by Amazon and DHL, as well as an EV charging park.

More recent addition to park includes a 28,500 sq ft building leased by adhesive manufacturer Forgeway.

The site's future expansion plans are supported by an outline planning consent and existing infrastructure to cater to the diverse requirements of incoming tenants.
