Resident Lynne Booth has created a knitted post box topper in aid of the Devon Freewheelers, which will sit on the Royal Mailbox on Imperial Road.

The official unveiling of the topper took place on Wednesday, November 8, when representatives of Devon Freewheelers, Mick Scaife and Derek Boustred saw it for the first time, arriving on blood bikes. It features three knitted people on blood bikes with the words 'Devon Freewheelers' on it. Also attached are details about what the Freewheelers do and also there is a QR code to help raise funds for this lifesaving charity.

Devon Freewheelers are an Emergency Voluntary Service (also known as the Devon Blood Bikes) based in Honiton. They are a team of fully-trained volunteer advanced Riders and Drivers, Call Handlers and Fundraisers who are dedicated to providing a service that is available around the clock, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, supporting the NHS - for free - in delivering essential whole blood, blood and other medical samples, medication, patient notes, medical equipment,  tissue samples and donor breast milk to hospitals, air ambulances and other NHS establishments - and even to patients' homes - throughout Devon.
