On 6 October, two staff members at WaterMeadow Grange care home in Topsham joined colleagues from across the region in a 13 mile charity walk.

Sharon Harris, deputy manager and Selina Sapsford, home admissions advisor walked in memory of Greg Swire who sadly passed away from Pancreatic Cancer in August 2023.

Watermeadow Grange is part of the Cinnamon Care Collection, a group of 20 luxury care homes, co-founded by Greg Swire. Sharon and Selina joined carers, housekeepers, general managers and directors from across the Cinnamon Care Collection group in this special walk from sister homes Hartwood House in Lyndhurst to Abbotswood in Romsey.

Collectively, they raised more than £3,000 for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Sharon Harris, deputy manager, Watermeadow Grange said: “This was a wonderful way for members of the Cinnamon Care community to remember Greg, celebrate his achievements and raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK. “The atmosphere on our walk was incredible – well-wishers stopped us in the street to donate money and residents from a local care home we passed along the way also showed their support and made donations. The event culminated with a barbeque and entertainment at Abbotswood, one of our sister care homes.

“Greg was an inspiring man who was passionate about providing great quality care to our care home residents, catering to their individual needs. He played such a major role in growing our group of care homes, prioritising the wellbeing of our residents and ensuring that kindness and great teamwork are at the heart of all that we do.”
