New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to four of East Devon’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.
Restaurants, cafes and canteens
The following ratings have been given to two restaurants, cafes or canteens:
• Rated 5: GWRSA at Great Western Railway Staff Association Club, Royal Avenue, Exmouth; rated on September 28
• Rated 5: Claude's Diner at Seaton Tramway, Harbour Road, Seaton; rated on September 22
Pubs, bars and nightclubs
And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:
• Rated 5: Pitchside at Axe Vale Caravan Park, Colyford Road, Seaton; rated on September 25
Ratings are a snapshot of the standards of food hygiene found at the time of inspection. It is the responsibility of the business to comply with food hygiene law at all times.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from 5 to 0 which is displayed at their premises and online.
5 – hygiene standards are very good
4 – hygiene standards are good
3 – hygiene standards are generally satisfactory
2 – some improvement is necessary
1 – major improvement is necessary
0 – urgent improvement is required
