The Deaf Academy in Exmouth will be holding an Open Day this month.

The event takes place from 12.30pm until 4pm on Saturday October, 21 and will be divided into sessions for people to drop into throughout the day.

The Academy moved to its state-of-the-art campus off Douglas Avenue in Exmouth in 2020. It is inviting people to visit, explore its facilities – which have been designed specifically for Deaf people - and meet its staff on Saturday, October 21.

It’s also offering free British Sign Language taster sessions and basic Deaf awareness sessions for visitors.

Mark Stocks, partnership and community manager, at the Deaf Academy, said: “Since we moved to Exmouth we have had an incredibly positive and warm welcome from the community.

“Our community open day is a chance for people to come and look around and find out a bit more about our students and what we do to support them and their learning at the Deaf Academy.”
