Bay Court Nursing Home in Budleigh Salterton is in the running for a prestigious national award.

The home has been shortlisted in the sixth annual Caring UK Awards, in the category 
'commitment to training and development' at the caring UK awards 2023.
which recognises excellence and achievement within the care sector across the UK.

Dominique Lloyd, owner of the home said: "We are really pleased to have been short listed for this award in recognition for the staff training and development at Bay Court Nursing Home. All of the team have had involvement in the training courses both online and face to face as well as mentoring student nurses, we are very proud of their commitment to the residents at Bay Court and their careers."

An awards spokesperson said: “Never has there been a more appropriate time to recognise the amazing and selfless contribution that our carers make and how they have given so much to protect and care for their residents in the face of unprecedented challenges.

"Getting through to The Caring UK awards is a great achievement, and having spent hours and hours as one of the first-round judges helping select the shortlists, I can assure you that you should feel like a winner already! We have received hundreds of nominations from all over the country and so many were testament to the wonderful work from carers across many different elements of care."

The awards are organised by Script Events in conjunction with the leading care industry magazine Caring UK, with support from headline sponsor Virgin Money. In each category up to seven finalists have been selected and they will now go through to the next stage of the judging process.

The winners will be revealed at a glittering awards ceremony at The Athena in Leicester on Thursday, December 7 when the industry will gather to salute all that is great about the care sector.

There are 20 categories on offer for care and nursing homes across the UK, including care employee of the year, activities team of the year, outstanding achievement award, and end-of-life team of the year, just to name a few.
