This week, Exmouth Neighbourhood Policing Team have been targeting 'street drinkers' in the Magnolia Centre and Strand.
Police officers have been out in Exmouth town centre, conducting high-visibility patrols to deter street drinkers causing anti-social behaviour and criminal offences. They will be patrolling in the town again yesterday (Thursday, August 31).
A spokesman for Exmouth Police said: "Unfortunately not all rough sleepers can be accommodated if they pose a significant risk to others, or it is a 'lifestyle' choice and they decline any support from housing and other services."
The Exmouth Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to work in partnership with The Rough Sleeper Navigators Housing Service at East Devon District Council to support and accommodate rough sleepers.
The spokesman added: "On a positive note, this week a rough sleeper who has been frequenting the Magnolia Centre, has been accommodated in supported housing in Exeter."
