The NHS in East Devon Devon is preparing for the next round of consultant industrial action ahead of the busy bank holiday weekend.

Visitors and local people are being encouraged to make best use of health services over the next five days to help the NHS cope with the challenging period ahead.

The British Medical Association (BMA) has announced that consultant doctors will be taking strike action for 48 hours from 7am on Thursday 24 August until 7am on Saturday 26 August. During the two days of industrial action, the BMA has advised that consultants will provide ‘Christmas Day’ cover, meaning they will continue to provide an emergency care only level of service.

The message from the NHS in Devon is that urgent and emergency care will be there for you, but please choose the right service for your needs. Ahead of the bank holiday weekend.
