Marpool Primary School in Exmouth hosted its own music festival, called ‘Marp Jam’, on Thursday, July 13, allowing children across the school to participate and immerse themselves in interactive workshops and live music.

After making links with local musicians The Shanty Men, Sol Energies and the Devon Music Hub, who loaned instruments to the school for the day, the children experienced multiple musical performances which inspired them to learn to play new instruments.

A well as this, the children also enjoyed exciting workshops, including A Big Emotions wellbeing session, Samba, Taiko drumming, Ukulele and even an opportunity to DJ with Sound Communities.

Finally, the big day came to an end with a big Shanty sing-a-long including the whole school.
